"Beginning" at the Ambassador Theatre
Heartwarming, thought provoking and, most importantly, entirely enthralling.
"Beginning" at the Ambassador Theatre carefully and sympathetically addresses the topic of love in the technological era we now live in. With cheeky references to Granny Facebook users and an optimistic look to the future as Hilary Clinton begins her campaign for President, this play gradually unravels two characters who initially appear to be two very normal working professionals but turn out to be highly complex and at some points quite down trodden by the world they now live.
The writer, David Eldbridge, finds a brilliant balance between comedy and catastrophe, with one particular line that is so unexpected you won't know whether to laugh, cry or expire under the pressure.
All performed by two astonishing actors who nail the rather subtle art of drunk acting, whilst slowly laying their characters souls bare and keeping the audience captivated for the entire hour and 45 minutes. Highly recommended and sure to become a West End staple.
